Hurricane Joaquin
The governors of several states have declared a state of emergency. There is the potential for mail service disruptions due to flooding, strong winds and power outages. The Postal Service is prepared to minimize those disruptions as local conditions allow. Our primary concern is for the safety of employees and customers.

South Carolina

Due to power outages and road closures caused by heavy rains and flooding, operations have been temporarily suspended at the following offices:

Gable PO, 29051
Fort Jackson PO, 29207
Shaw AFB PO, 29152
Alcolu PO, 29001
Rembert PO, 29128
Five Points PO, 29205
Forest Acres PO, 29206

North Carolina

Due to flooding and storm damage, operations have been temporarily suspended at the following offices:

Cedar Island Post Office, 28520
Hobenken Post Office, 28552

California

The Franklin Station has been relocated and all operations have been moved to a temporary facility located at 1436 2nd St., Napa, CA, 94559. No further updates will be posted.

Illinois

Cameron PO 61423 –The Post Office was damaged by a tornado. Operations have been temporarily suspended. Customers can visit the Abingdon Post Office located at 123 W. Meek St., 61410, for retail and PO Box services.

Michigan

Kendall PO 49062 –As a result of a fire, operations out of the Kendall Post Office have been temporarily suspended. Customers can visit the Gobles Post Office located at 106 E. Exchange St., Gobles, Michigan, for retail and PO Box services.

Ohio

The Whitehall Carrier Annex, 43213 – sustained damage following a fire at the facility after hours. DDU drops should be taken to the Airport Annex located at 4299 Sawyer Road, Columbus, OH 43236.

South Dakota

Mellette, SD, 57461 – Operations at the Mellette Post Office 57461 have been suspended due to structural issues making it unsafe for customers and employees. Customers of the Mellette Post Office will be able to receive PO Box and retail service at the Northville PO located at 306 W Elm Street, Northville, SD, 57465-9998. Hours at Northville are Monday – Friday 9 a.m. -12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. and Sat. 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Mellette customers can pick up their mail as early as 7:20 a.m.
