Winter Storm Jonas to Become Major East Coast Snowstorm; Blizzard Watch for D.C., Baltimore

01/20/2016

After causing major delays in the West with I80 closed in parts of Wyoming, disrupting travel in Washington state, Idaho and Montana, Winter Storm Jonas is now headed East. Major transportation delays are expected through the East.

Road closures in the East are expected and we may even see coastal flooding.

Weather.com reports “Winter storm watches have been issued for 14 states from the Mid-South to the East Coast in advance of Winter Storm Jonas. In addition, blizzard watches have been issued for parts of the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas. Now is the time to prepare for Winter Storm Jonas, as conditions will go downhill quickly across portions of the East with snow, ice and wind, ramping up Friday and lasting into the weekend.”

The USPS has also just sent an Industry Alert for the Winter Storm. For the most current Postal Service disruptions, visit http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/business-weather-updates.htm.

As always, Fairrington will update clients directly impacted by the weather.
