Data Service

If there are two phrases that have lost their meaning through overuse and misuse they would be "supply chain reengineering” and “supply chain optimization"; they have attained cliché status in less than ten years. The data services provided by Fairrington are designed to help our customers navigate the complexities of real-time distribution and actual cost/benefit analysis through a professional staff that provides guidance to entry point selection, processing categories, mail class, key code matrices, component coordination and in-home timing. Our data services department is the nexus between marketing, manufacturing and execution.

Services include USPS discount analysis, load planning, date planning, inventory control, co-palletization reporting, USPS qualification reporting, 8125 generation and E 8125's.

Package Inserts

The deregulation of surface transportation in 1980 was the catalyst for the Fairrington model. If a transportation company could combine less-than-truckload shipments into truckload volumes and provide on-time delivery, then large discounts could be offered without sacrificing service. The first commodities transported by Fairrington were newspaper inserts and package inserts. Today this program services some of the largest Direct Marketing entities in the United States and as volumes continue to grow the corresponding freight charges continue to shrink. Direct Marketing firms and Advertising Agencies have realized substantial savings by internalizing the control of these distributions. In today's "do-more-with-less" competitive environment this internalization of control consists of directing suppliers to call the Fairrington 800 number. All other functions are handled by the Fairrington client services representative assigned to the account. While the initial emphasis for change was economic, it soon became apparent that there was another benefit to a 24/7 single point of contact. Key code distribution matrices help Fairrington provide real time information to the campaign's production manager regarding the status of their print orders and feasibility of desired delivery for insertion dates. Insertion programs that release biannually have taken advantage of the improved economics and efficiencies created by printing all annual volume in one press run and controlling the release through Fairrington's 400,000 square foot distribution facility.
