Feinstein, Enzi Introduce Bill to Reauthorize Breast Cancer Research Stamp

06/18/2015

Breast Cancer Stamp2015/06/18 – Since 1998, the Stamp has raised more than $80 million for cancer research.  Recently, Feinstein and Enzi introduced a bill to reauthorize the Breast Cancer Research Stamp.

An official of the National Cancer Institute at NIH said that Stamp funds have gone to successful cutting-edge cancer research projects. However, he noted that NIH funding from the Stamp has recently dropped from several million dollars each year to only about one million.

This bill comes at a critical point for research and is timed well with the reissue of the stamp in September 2014 by the United States Postal Service.
